About Us

Brad's Blessings is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading kindness and hope to those who need it most.

Our Mission

Honoring Brad’s Legacy Through Service

At Brad's Blessings, our mission is to spread joy and hope by performing random acts of kindness for individuals fighting cancer, facing serious illnesses, and military personnel impacted by burn pit exposure.

We are also proud to support the next generation by awarding scholarships to students at Guardian Angels School and McNicholas High School — Brad's alma mater— who exemplify compassion and kindness in their everyday lives.

The Faces Behind the Mission

The individuals leading Brad's Blessings initiatives are those who were closest to Brad Giesting throughout his life. Their unwavering dedication to honoring his legacy through random acts of kindness is a testament to Brad's impact during his time on Earth.

A Letter from the Giesting Family

Like so many others, the tragic 9/11 attack gave Brad Giesting a sense of purpose and clarity about his future after high school. Brad knew he was meant to serve and enlisted in the Army, proudly serving with the 101st Airborne division from 2004 – 2008. After receiving an honorable discharge, Brad went on to live his version of the American dream, marrying his high school sweetheart and building a family with their two beautiful daughters. Life seemed full of promise.

Brad’s life took an unexpected turn in May 2013 when, after enduring months of unexplained abdominal pain, Brad was diagnosed with Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma, a rare and aggressive soft tissue cancer. This cancer was linked by the Veterans Administration and his medical team to his exposure to burn pits during his tour in Iraq.

Brad approached his diagnosis with the same determination and courage as his military service, while maintaining his playful sense of humor and ability to find joy in the everyday moments. For the next three years, Brad fought fiercely, never losing his vibrant spirit. Brad passed away on October 22, 2016.

Throughout Brad’s journey, our family was deeply moved by the kindness and support shown by people we had never met. This inspired the creation of Brad’s Blessings Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, where we aim to “pay it forward” and keep Brad’s spirit alive. Brad’s Blessings delivers “sunshine boxes” to cancer patients, supports active duty military and veterans battling cancer and other illnesses caused by burn pit exposure, and provides scholarships to

Brad’s alma maters for students who model kindness to others.
The generosity and support we receive from people like you continue to help us make a difference in the lives of those fighting cancer, while also honoring Brad’s memory. Thank you for being part of this important mission.

With gratitude,
